Mistletoe and Marshmallows

Merry Christmas, folks :)

Though if you're reading this, you should probably go away from the computer and celebrate with your family.

Been in Davao for a week now and as it's really the closest you'll get to a modern, but still provincial capital, there is nothing much for me to report here.  I'm already taking a big leap of faith here and assuming this blog is still read by people other than my mum, okay? Anyone? Anyone? HELLO?

Okay, so hello, Mr. Blogwall, let me talk to you.

Again, not much to talk about since I'm in Davao.  It's a lovely, quiet place, excusing the two radios blaring music at the same time from neighbours on opposite ends of our house during Christmas eve until the wee hours.  I never thought I would hear a forced remix between Last Friday Night and Take Me Home, Country Roads in this lifetime, but it actually wasn't that bad.

Oh, I went to Catholic Mass too, which is always an interesting experience since I'm Christian, but I pretty much remember all the words and business of standing and sitting after all this time so I'm still safe to bring along.  It's a beautiful ritual, with the great stained glass windows and chandeliers and domes and candles and then everyone really does sing and say their part and participate.  I imagine it's a sight to behold in masses conducted in Latin - if there still are any, that is.

I know there were too many and's in that sentence. Bah humbug.

The priest did share something quite lovely today.  He said that we celebrate Christmas because we share in God's divinity as he came down from heaven to share in our humanity.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

A lovely thought and let me leave you with that.

Again, Happy Christmas.  May his blessings fall on you and all those you hold dear. :)

Haha I like the way you separate the Catholics from the Christians. And yes, Latin is a beautiful language. But the closest we can get to it without going to the Vatican or learning Latin is the KJV. Which apparently is the most accurate, word-for-word translation.

And yes, have a blessed Christmas too (although its almost over :( )

lol it's like some sort of nursery rhyme ♪ Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholics ♪

though I know you know that :)

I couldn't really say I'm Protestant or Presbyterian or something since I'm just floating about :D

But hey, thanks for stopping by. Still not a late greeting anyway so thanks^^ Enjoy the last bit of the hols.
